The Story

San Marcos' homegrown guitar goliath, Barry Bynum, sat with his good friend Seth Worley, the storytelling songwriter, in San Marcos at the Café on the Square having a piece of pie, kicking around ideas and feeling that uneasy feeling of having something to express but no outlet. Even though they had both been involved in various styles of music including rock, folk and worship music, they were sensing this longing to sing the deeper songs and sentiments God created inside of them. They said to each other, Let's make a songwriters' band for people who pine for the good ol' days of kickin' rock 'n' roll, instrumental solos, rich harmonies,  and heart-wrenching lyrics about personal integrity. So, we all came together in Barry's basement studio, me and my big brothers in Christ.

That was in the late summer of 2001.

Then September 11th brought us to our knees, asking, "What can we do for you, God, in these urgent times?" The answer was: Make music together from your hearts so that people can gather around it like a fire to warm their souls.

Seth's song 'Wear That Shoe' became a theme for us. We don't want to be in your face. We just sing from the overflow of our hearts. Like shoes are made for feet, our music is made for the love of Jesus. If the shoe fits, wear that shoe.
